Hot for Words
Thursday, July 31st, 2008Ok, here’s something interesting. Possibly the most bookwormy subject you could dig up: etymology. Possibly the hottest host you could dig up: Marina Orlova. Package them together in an RSS feed and you have one of the most brilliant uses for podcasting ever invented. Man or woman, you will not be able to look away while this eastern European beauty tells you in her own ultra-flirtatious way, how words and phrases like “the birds and the bees” or “horny” came from. I dare you to watch just one episode… She’s like a Lay’s potatoe chip, you can’t stop at one no matter how hard you try.

Here’s a youtube style soap opera that is worth watching. A story told, 3 minutes at a time, of 3 friends from Jersey on a mission to find real love. You can start at the beginning, or just pick it up wherever and get lost in the storyline which involves thongs and bikini’s, cheep cologne in aerosol cans, and Bahama Mama’s (the local meat market where the guys spend most of their time searching for future wives). This is one of the funniest shows in the youtube soap genre that I’ve ever watched!

Tiki Bar is one of my favorite show’s these days. I got into it years ago, somehow I stumbled across the first episode way back when. But recently I’ve put it in my Splice with the intention of just checking it out for a few days so I could review it, and I can’t stop watching it. I’ve moved it to the top of my list and it’s the first think I look for every day when I get my Splice email. If you’re using the Splice feed emails, be sure to add this in, you won’t regret it!
